We analyzed which posts and comments in Facebook were written by people that sincerely do not believe in science and which — by managers of the bot farms that received the corresponding order. In case of high bots activity, we attempted to define who ordered such an activity.

Erase it if you can. How Ukrainian bots live on the pages of Ukrainian politicians

More than a quarter of Ukrainians consider social networks the main source of news; among them, around 75% use Facebook. Today this social network is the most popular in Ukraine. The aim of this research is to drive attention of Ukrainian society to the number of bots in social networks and their significant impact on the public opinion.

Active Facebook users state that they use this social network as a source of information because the latter is aggregated there. There is no need to visit various websites if all news media have their pages in Facebook. We decided to research how bots set the agenda on the Ukrainian media pages.

The kings of Facebook. The most efficient politicians and top officials in the social network

We studied Facebook activity of almost fifty leading figures of the Ukrainian government and politics as well as evaluated the effectiveness of communicating their information and ideas to social media users. We relied on the readers’ feedback to the politicians’ posts: number of comments to the posts, number of shares and likes.

We studied 100 Facebook pages that are the most popular among Ukrainians. The research defined the leaders in terms of the number of likes on their pages, who has the most readers among the Ukrainian population, which media outlets use bots for promotion, and who is best at engaging the audience.
